State of the world

Today I noticed for the first time that in a Boston Public high school, there is a printed sign on the bathroom for female faculty that reads: “Female Teacher’s.” (sic) And these are the people who are teaching our young people. Somehow, this explains a lot.

Last night, however, I heard some exceptional poetry written by people who may or may not be products of our fucked up educational system. It helped that most of it was written by , but hey, I’m thankful that he dragged me out to read his poem Mapquest Directions to the Object of this Poem, because it was a great evening and I heard some other great poets, as well.
