Dungeon Rock

Dungeon Rock

Another of our explorations using the great travel guide Curious New England. We drove out to Lynn, MA and hiked about a mile round trip through the Lynn Fells Reservation and up Dungeon Rock. This is from the top of the rock, which has an enormous tunnel through the rock made by father and son in desperate, lifelong searches for treasure allegedly buried inside when a pirate was trapped in an earthquake.

Unfortunately, the tunnel is locked up. But it was a beautiful spot, and a fun little piece of New England history.

I decided not to go to New York for the funeral. I can’t deal with another funeral right now, and I know there will be more coming. Death is inescapable.
