Trauma

There’s a lot of trauma walking around in Boston Public high schools. It’s exhausting. It’s a wonder these kids make it to school at all. Their backpacks are overflowing with gang violence, parent conflicts, alcoholic parents, separation from their biological families, and assorted other traumas. It’s a wonder they can do their homework, dream of college, find hope in Obama’s election with all they carry around with them.
