Day 270

I don’t know what I want to say about it exactly, but today I’ve been thinking about the Allen family who lived  on the “other” Woodcrest street in San Antonio – block away, same name as my street,  but not continuous.  They were the first and one of the only transracial families I knew growing up,  and they were transracial through adoption.  In some unconscious way, they normalized for me what family could look like and paved the way for what my own family now looks like.
